Graphology is known as the controversial pseudoscience of handwriting and personality. When we had an opportunity in class to create a tabloid and print it through Newspaper Club, I knew that this topic would be the perfect subject to explore.I began by collecting a couple articles that were fun and interesting to read, including one that criticizes the credibility of graphology as a science, and one that explores what your handwriting says about your personality, according to a graphology expert.
The topic of handwriting lended itself easily to a hand-made aesthetic, allowing me to pull in graphics of torn and textured paper, staples, tape, hand-drawn elements, and more. For the finishing visual touch, I hand-wrote and scanned in all the text that would be used in the design. Despite the time that it took to do this, it helped to tie together the entire visual message and led to a very satisfying final result.
