My Yarn Journal is an app prototype designed to help knitters, crocheters, and yarn crafters of all kinds to organize and display their creative work. It features a journal for completed projects, a shelf to track craft materials, and a pattern archive.
The journal serves as an archive and portfolio for completed yarn projects, allowing users to add photos of their completed projects with the date, plus hooks/needles and yarn used. The shelf section allows the user to add photos and descriptions of yarn that they currently have at home. Yarn can be filtered by brand, color, weight, and more in order to quickly sort through the collection. The shelf also includes a section for pairing yarn together in color palettes, as well as a section for keeping track of hooks and needles that the user owns. The final piece of the app is the pattern archive, where users can upload PDFs and images of patterns that they own for quick reference.
The app strives for a balance of soft and cozy visuals, while maintaining a simple and clear interface.
